If your well has been ordered plugged, or you want the well plugged as it is no longer in use, I can take care of all of your plugging needs and will do so using the most cost effective means possible.
I have thorough knowledge of: Ontario’s geology; well construction and plugging; the Ontario Oil, Gas & Salt Resources Act, related regulations and standards; and can prepare well plugging programs for any type of well.
As a certified Class I Examiner, I can certify the placement of plugs as required by the Provincial Operating Standards.
I receive many plugging requests when properties are being sold and landowners want to improve the value of the property by removing a liability.
I frequently work with land developers to identify historical petroleum and water wells early in the planning and design process. Addressing these wells at the outset helps avoid delays, reduces construction risk, and ensures plugging activities can be completed in a controlled and cost-effective manner.
One major project of interest I performed involved locating over 20 orphan wells in a historical oil field where I documented the wells location and condition and provided recommendations for wellsite rehabilitation and plugging.
Another interesting plugging project involved plugging historical wells found during construction of a solar farm in Haldimand County. When we arrived onsite to examine the wells we were looking at holes in the ground with no surface equipment present. We were able to successfully clean the wells out and plug them back to surface with cement. One of the wells required us to drill out old wooden/stone/cement plugs back to the original total depth at about 250 metres. The operator of the solar farm was very pleased with the outcome and reasonable costs of the project.
